About this book
This book was created as a token of respect for Mr Jean-Claude Juncker who, in his position as former Prime Minister of Luxembourg, was one of the longest-serving democratically elected leaders in the world. Mr Juncker was President of the Eurogroup from the creation of the semi-permanent position in 2005 until 2013 and he also served two six-month terms as President of the European Council, in 1997 and 2005.
We believe Mr Juncker is one of the most brilliant European politicians in recent times and we have great hopes that he will become the President of the European Commission after the European parliamentary elections in May 2014.
As Mr Juncker is a human rights advocate and animal lover, we have sought to represent here the domain where both are mutually dependent and influential.
For the wise and discerning, and those for whom the hands on the clock move far too swiftly and free time is a luxury, each chapter in the book is prefaced by a brief synopsis of the content.
We would also like to warn our readers about 'powerful' photos in the book. In this book we have sought to represent the realities of the cause and effects of the dissonant society that is Romania. This representation includes photos which some readers may find offensive. They SHOULD find them offensive. These depict the sometimes grotesque sights that Romanian children may see every day. 86,3% of the child population in a recent study have seen such things. No Child of Europe should see such horror. No child should have their childhood innocence so rudely ripped from them.
Please be outraged! Nothing is asked of you... except your compassion... and your voice!
